Gaughan Racing Tire Kingdom/Service Central Tundra in Season Finale at Homestead

  |   News

Mooresville, N.C. (Nov. 16, 2011) – For the second time this season, Brendan Gaughan will carry the red white-blue paint scheme, this time with Tire Kingdom on the hood of the No. 62 Tire Kingdom/Service Central Tundra. Gaughan’s entry last sported a similar scheme for Big O Tires in Las Vegas this season.

I’m excited about getting to Homestead with the momentum this team has built in the last few weeks. We hope to finish off the year strong with the No. 62 Tire Kingdom/Service Central Tundra,” said Gaughan. Gaughan, who first raced off-road before making the jump into the oval circuits of NASCAR, enjoys racing on the intermediate, or 1.5-mile racetracks.

While many are “D-shaped” tracks, Homestead is unique. “One thing about Homestead is that it’s not like any other mile and a half track on the circuit. There’s no dogleg, so the corner entry and exit is different than any other intermediate track we race,” explained Gaughan. “Homestead is a fun track. The racing groove has really opened up a lot. You can run around the top, bottom, or middle. It gives the driver and the crew chief a lot of options for chassis setup and chassis adjustments.”

Friday’s race will be broadcast live from Homestead-Miami Speedway on SPEED, MRN Radio and Sirius-XM NASCAR Radio, channel 90, on Friday night. SPEED kicks off its pre-race coverage at 7:30 p.m. EST, and MRN Radio will begin its live broadcast at 7:45 p.m. EST on Friday, November 18. SPEED will also carry live broadcasts of final practice (11 a.m. EST) and qualifying (4:30 p.m. EST) on Friday.

Germain Racing has earned two championship titles in the Truck Series. The Toyota team owns 22 victories and 9 pole awards in the series that continues to grow ratings on SPEED.
