Brendan Gaughan Finishes 11th at Iowa Speedway
Brendan Gaughan and the No. 62 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet qualified 16th for the NASCAR Nationwide Series U.S. Cellular 250 at Iowa Speedway. The Las Vegas-native began reporting a loose-handling race car on lap 11. When the first caution flag fell on lap 26, crew chief Shane Wilson elected to keep the South Point Chevrolet out on the track. During their first pit stop on lap 52, the team worked diligently to adjust air pressure, track bar and take four Goodyear tires and Sunoco fuel. Throughout the remainder of the 250-lap event, the RCR team battled to improve the handling of the Camaro. On lap 243 the yellow flag fell after Gaughan made contact with a competitor causing him to make an unscheduled pit stop to repair damage. When the final green-flag fell on lap 247 the No. 62 team was able to rebound and cross the finish line in the 11th position. Brendan Gaughan and the South Point Hotel & Casino team are currently eighth in the driver points standings as the Series heads to Watkins Glen International.

BRENDAN GAUGHAN QUOTE:
“The 62 South Point Chevrolet was pretty loose all night long. Shane (Wilson) made some good calls on adjustments. It was unfortunate to get caught up in that last caution with James (Buescher), but we made the most of it and brought the Camaro home in 11th place.”
