Brendan Gaughan Finishes 28th at Watkins Glen International
Brendan Gaughan and the South Point Hotel & Casino Chevrolet Camaro took the green-flag in the ninth position for the NASCAR Nationwide Series Zippo 200 at Watkins Glen International. Reports of tight-handling conditions began in the early laps of the 82-lap event. On lap 21 and lap 28 Gaughan was forced to make a pit stops after getting grass on the grille. The Richard Childress Racing team fought hard to move up through the field and, on lap 52, took over the race lead. Late race battles caused the No. 62 Chevrolet Camaro to pick up grass on the track, causing the water temperature to rise and forcing the team to visit pit road to cool down. Gaughan crossed the finish line in 28th-place as he and the No. 62 South Point Hotel & Casino team moved up to seventh in the driver point standings as the Series heads to the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course next weekend.

BRENDAN GAUGHAN QUOTE:
“Tough day for this Richard Childress Racing team. We were contending for the win and started pushing water with about 20 laps to go. Lucky for us we have a great partnership with Lucas Oil and the 62 Chevrolet was able to hang out and finish the race. We are ready to head to Mid-Ohio next week and redeem ourselves.”
